Aegean have an unrivalled track record supplying quality replacement covers over 30 years, longer than any other UK hot tub company and certainly longer than new internet companies that have appeared over the last year offering replacement covers. Regrettably some of these new companies that are unable to compete on price, quality, security of purchase or genuine delivery times are now offering warranties not seen before in the industry, all without any true details or any form of back up or security for the purchaser. We feel buyers should be aware and protected from “Here today, Gone Tomorrow” internet companies that promise everything but are then not around in the future to honour these promises.

While some of these companies have progressed from the bedroom table that most internet traders operate from, few have a track record, an accounting history, assets or anything other than a temporary pitch and address on a garden centre site. Their ability and commitment to honour any warranty that is longer than they have been established is highly questionable, especially as over 75% of start up UK hot tub companies have now disappeared !

To counter such warranties Aegean will match any warranty from another spa cover supplier into England and Wales ,if we are provided with a copy of a competitors warranty with a personal guarantee from a director/ partner / owner of the company that clearly states they will personally honour the cover warranty, giving their personal guarantee and home address. Remember a manufacturers warranty counts for nothing as your contract is with the seller, not the manufacturer, so you need the seller’s details.

We believe this challenge will flush out any misleading warranty sales claims, if you buy from a company offering say a 3 year warranty,you should demand a document that will allow an easy small claim through the courts if your cover fails within the 3 year terms the warranty. Although we suspect that all long warranties will have been put together in such a manner they can be wriggled out of.  Unfortunately we have seen it all before as companies have come and gone over the last 30 years while we have been operating from the same premises in Mill Hill, North West London.

Care Tips

1. Keep clean with mild soap and water, do not use silicone based cleaners or treatments.
2. Do not scrape or drag cover.
3. Do not use vapor seals to lift or remove cover (pouches at inside ends of hinge area).
4. Do not lift cover without unfastening locking straps.
5. Keep water and snow off top of cover.
6. Do not walk, sit or lean on cover.
7. Attach all locking hold down straps when installing and fasten when not in use to prevent heat loss.
8. Use handles and straps for positioning only, handles and seams will not support the weight of cover.
9. Do not place heavy objects on the cover.
10. When not on the spa, ensure cover is stored to prevent buckling.

Inner Core Maintenance

Important: Excess chemicals and/or chemical imbalance will deteriorate the plastic vapour barrier. When the vapour barrier is damaged, inner cores will absorb moisture. The following instructions will prolong the life of your plastic vapour barrier and inner cores.

1. Be sure to take the cover completely off the tub when shocking with chemicals and leave it off for a period of 30 minutes or until the chemical level is back to normal. Very important to take cover off, not just flip one side open.
2. Spray or wipe off the bottom side of your cover approximately once a month to get the excess chemical residue off the plastic barrier. These excess chemicals are what cause the plastic to dry out and crack.
3. Approximately every 6 months, take the inserts out and flip them over so that the opposite side of the insert is over the water.

Warning: Avoid Drowning Risk

1. STAY OFF COVER - WILL NOT SUPPORT WEIGHT.
2. KEEP CHILDREN AWAY - CHILDREN OR OBJECTS CANNOT BE SEEN UNDER COVER.
3. REMOVE STANDING WATER - CHILD CAN DROWN ON TOP OF COVER.
4. REMOVE COVER COMPLETELY BEFORE ENTRY OF BATHERS - ENTRAPMENT POSSIBLE.
5. NON-SECURED OR IMPROPERLY SECURED COVERS ARE A HAZARD.
6. CHECK COVER FREQUENTLY FOR DAMAGE AND/OR PREMATURE DETERIORATION.
7. FAILURE TO FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR DROWNING.

How long does the warranty last?
This warranty runs for one year from the date of delivery of original purchase.

Who is covered?
This warranty covers the original purchaser with proof of purchase.

What does this warranty cover?
This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship.

What does this warranty NOT cover?
This warranty does not cover damage from abuse, misuse or neglect (see listed items).

1. Damage due to excessive chemicals or heat
2. Inner foam core breakage
3. Inner foam core moisture absorption due to foam breakage or damage to plastic barrier
4. Damage, tears or abrasions to vinyl cover due to scraping, dragging or sliding of cover
5. Damage due to use of silicone based cleaners or treatments (see Care Tips)
6. Damage due to use of vapour seals as handles (pouches at inside ends of hinge)
7. Damage due to weight placed on cover
8. Damage caused by inappropriate storage
9. Handles damaged due to lifting
10. Adverse weather conditions, including wind

What will Aegean Spas & Hot Tubs do?
Within the warranty period Aegean Spas & Hot Tubs will do the following:

1. upon return of cover we will inspect cover to determine whether failure is due to defects in materials or workmanship
2. repair or replace, at our option, any defective cover or part

What will Aegean Spas & Hot Tubs NOT do?

1. We will not be responsible for freight cost for forwarding and return of your cover.
2. We will not provide substitute or loan cover during repair period.
3. We will not repair under warranty any damage due to the above list not considered defects.
